Eneko Atxa is one of the world’s most influential chefs. He has three Michelin stars and runs his Restaurant Azurmendi in Larrabetzu (Bizkaia) where he works tirelessly to produce exceptional food. Obviously his restaurant could not be less innovative in this respect. Egoin took part in this ambitious construction project of a restaurant for the recognised chef, using a combination of laminated timber and CLT. A unique environmentally-friendly project which was recognised as the most sustainable restaurant in the world in 2014. This piece of contemporary architecture housing the new building was designed by Naia Eguino arquitectural studio. The total built-up area is 845m2 with a total of 340m3 timber used.
