Egoin annually produces 50,000 m2 of Timber Frame panels.
The Timber Frame or light timber frame is a very efficient system for the construction of walls, floors and roofs, mainly used in residential construction. This system allows prefabrication and combines lightness and simplicity in construction with high levels of stability and comfort.
It consists of a structure formed by slender and thin pieces of wood separated at small distances (between 40 and 60 cm), and fixed to closed frames (frames) or forming a lattice. Its components are self-stable but need the rest of the transverse trusses to provide overall stability to the structure.
It is used in the construction of overhangs of up to 3 meters in modules, terraces, porches and gazebos.
They are structures that function in a three-dimensional way through a series of very light elements that manage to support large loads by distributing them and adequately bracing the elements.
They are very resistant to earthquakes and wind forces, provided that the foundation allows a certain independence of the structure, and suffer a lower risk of collapse than that of a traditional construction.
In addition, the metal joints (nailed or with hanging hardware) offer a certain ductility, which helps to recover the shape after lateral displacement.
