The BAKH project for the Sports City of the Vitoria-Gasteiz Basketball team, Baskonia, consists of an ice rink and a swimming pool. The ice rink includes a lattice that spans a span of 35 m without the need for any intermediate support and supports a heavy-loaded vegetation cover. The construction takes advantage of the openings in the lattice for the passage of facilities and the interior chords of the gables to receive the slabs of the restaurant on one side, and of the parking deck on the other.
In turn, the swimming pool includes 22 m triarticulated arches modulated every 7 m, which support a mixed glass and zinc roof.
The project built by Egoin has Saski Baskonia S.A.D. as promoter and is managed by the Mondragón LK group engineering. The total built area is 3,920 m2 and a total of 261 m3 of wood was used.
