The Casal d'Entitats i Centre de Serveis Socials Porta Trinitat, designed by the Barcelona-based studio Haz Arquitecturawas born from the need to provide Barcelona's vulnerable neighborhoods with a facility to accommodate young people, the elderly, neighborhood associations and organizations that need spaces for the personal and collective development of their activities. This building is the first to be built within Porta Trinitat, a new multifunctional set of facilities that will be located at the entrance to Barcelona along the Rondas and Avenida Meridiana, near the Nudo de la Trinitat in Barcelona.

The main challenge faced by the studio in charge of the project has been to construct a building stripped of ornamentation, leaving the structural wood, the CLT, in sight, as a commitment signed with the raw material to reduce the ecological footprint of the construction, also prioritizing climatic and acoustic comfort over budgetary investment. According to Manuel Sánchez-Villanueva, architect of the Haz Arquitectura studio, 'everything to create, in an intimate space, a comfortable place for the people of the Sant Andreu and Nou Barris district, a wooden building where people feel at home'.

The interior of the building, dedicated to social services and as a women's center, is organized around two courtyards that provide light and ventilation. The rooms are organized around the central core of the building and can be easily redistributed, as they capture the renewal air through the facades of the courtyards, by means of strips that act like the gills of a fish.

For this project, Egoin has deployed its expertise in wood construction with the exterior timber frame envelope made of radiata pine and with the development of louvred grills and vertical and horizontal solar protection on the windows of the facades. Specifically, the facade material is larch wood, autoclave-treated with resins that give it properties of resistance to the spread of fire. The vertical quartering of the larch provides the pattern for the sun protection in front of the windows, giving the whole a uniform appearance. Egoin was also in charge of the building's structure, consisting of walls, ribbed slabs and stairs with CLT treads.

The result is a building in the shape of a rectangular wooden prism 33 meters long by 18 meters wide and four stories high, with high quality finishes and a construction process that has stood out for its low waste generation and speed of assembly, which required a total of 660 m3 of wood. In addition, the roof, made up of photovoltaic panels, generates 60,000W of electric power per year, bringing the building's energy consumption very close to
