The BAKH project of the Sports City of Baskonia basketball team in Vitoria-Gasteiz boasts an ice rink and a swimming pool. The ice rink includes a trellis bridging a 35 m gap, does not require any intermediate support and supports a large load thatched roof. The construction uses the trellis gaps to conduct services and internal links to gables to connect the restaurant flooring on the one hand, and the car park roof on the other.
Furthermore, the swimming pool includes 22 m arches with three hinges modulated in sections of 7 m and supporting a glass and zinc roofing.
The project built by Egoin was promoted by Saski Baskonia S.A.D. and was supervised by Mondragón LK Group engineering. The total built-up area is 3,920 m2 and 261 m3 of timber were used in total.
