Schools are very sensitive facilities where sustainability, efficiency and construction completion times are key, and in particular, in the event of very large buildings. The construction of the Montessori School in Logroño was one of those cases where N232 Arquitectura (Victor García + Martín Sáez) study had to complete the project in 4 months, and this was possible thanks to the use of CLT panels.

The 820 m2 building was built exclusively in Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) industrialised systems, manufactured in zero-mile radiata pine timber. The walls were left exposed on the inside providing a comfortable and health environment for the children. Outside, two noble materials, European larch and zinc, were combined. The result achieved reflects a functional, simple style and is perfectly integrated into the environment, in line with the initial aims of these premises.

“Timber is an almost finished product which is ready to be used once assembled; there is no need to wait for curing or drying since its construction is dry and has very pleasant organoleptic characteristics”, N232 Arquitectura.
