21 SOCIAL HOUSING UNITS
Biarritz Parme is an iconic modular residential project of 21 dwellings and a total built-up area of 1,300 m2 built in Aquitaine, France. 520 m3 of timber were used altogether. The project was driven by the promoter L’Office 64 de l’Habitat and supervised by architects Phillipe Rabier and Lionel Gaetner. With a view to minimising the impact and inconveniences this kind of construction causes among neighbours, it was decided to erect the building in 2 blocks using factory assembled CLT modules. Each block of flats has a ground floor and a further 2 floors, consisting of 9 modular units each 3m wide and 10m long, likewise an entrance comprising a staircase and lift.
