28 COOPERATIVE HOMES
We built housing to create a community. This is the slogan of La Borda social housing co-operative which built an iconic block of flats on a plot granted by Barcelona City Council. This project won the 2019 Architecture Prize at the Barcelona Building Construmat (BB Construmat), due to its innovative construction proposal and ethical dimension.

La Borda was designed by Lacol architect with the support of Egoin. This is a milestone in the housing sector both in terms of materials used (structural timber) and dimensions of the work (28 flats), not to mention their social character given theyâ??re designed for rental.

La Borda project is a 25.5 m high social housing block of 28 flats built on the old factory site of Can Batlló. Egoin used 660 m3 of CLT panels and 40 m3 laminated radiata pine from Basque forests.
