Casa Sant Juliá is a detached house which Egoin built in La Floresta district in San Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona) under the supervision of SAIZVERDOUX Architects. It was designed pursuant to basic energy efficiency parameters with a high degree of insulation, wood carpentries with luxury features, together with ventilated façades and roofing. ACS production was performed using a heat insulation panel fitted to the roofing and the sole installed heating system is a log stove in the main space of the house.

The use of pre-fabricated building systems has meant a large saving in economic terms and execution period (5 monthsâ?? work). The house structure was built using radiata pine CLT panels with assembly in under 3 days. At the same time, these panels are: the structural system, dividing walls; and finish of flooring, walls, and ceiling. The façade finish comprising untreated larch battens was previously assembled in the workshop. The timber used was PEFC certified in both cases. Concrete was not required in the work.

Furthermore, pre-fabrication meant a drastic reduction in waste, making great use of excess timber and cut-offs from panel gaps, façade battens in other areas like indoor staircases.
The built-up area was 190m2 and 70m3 of timber used.
